8+ Pics Of Animals From Angles We Don't Usually See

We're used to seeing animals, especially wild ones, from specific angles. You're not getting up close to the creatures at your local zoo, and photographers are usually looking to capture their subjects' good sides.

So I thought it was neat when I stumbled across a couple of photos taken from unusual angles, and figured I'd find a few more to share with you too.

1. Horses look really weird from underneath.

The Underlook Project got a lot of buzz when they photographed dogs and cats from underneath, through a pane of glass.

But when they managed to do it with horses, they definitely levelled up.

2. This is less a photo taken from a unique angle than it is a creature managing angles it really shouldn't.

There is a big spider in that picture. It's called a "wrap-around spider" and is really good at camouflage.

3. What the fish sees.

This crazy photo of pelicans was taken with a fish-eye lens and remind me to never be a fish at the dinner buffet.

Cameleons are already such vibrant, beautiful colors from afar, but up close you can see how their scales look like Skittles.

Just please don't taste this rainbow.

5. And people say my dislike of deep water is irrational...

I couldn't find confirmation on whether this was a squid or a cuttlefish, and from this direction, it's hard to say.

That's its "face" by the way.

6. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids lied to us all.

If the friendly ant the kids befriended and rode looked like this it would have been a horror movie.

7. From every angle, swans are beautiful and total dicks.

The only reason they aren't as loathed as geese is because they are pretty.

Other than that, they are The Worst. Just ask anyone that lives in a city where they are common.

8. Suddenly, an elephant's trunk is less cute and much more terrifying.

Also, I've never appreciated how skinny their necks are compared to their bodies.

9. Also terrifying from a low angle? Giraffes.

Of course, part of that is the feeling that it's about to step on the photographer.

But can we talk about its shoulders? Or chest? Whatever part it is, it's the front, but definitely looks like a boney butt from this angle.

10. We also need to talk about that underbite.

Yes, this pic is the bottom of the giraffe's head, not the top. It's hard to tell, but the key is the lack of horns, or ossicones.

But thanks to that weird smile, it looks like a sinister devil creature.
