A gentle shelter pup in Canada is eagerly awaiting the right family to look past his unusual appearance and see just how deserving of a loving furever home he really is.
Icy, a 5-year-old Cairn Terrier mix, has been at the Lincoln Humane Society in St. Catharines, Ontario, since the end of June, but despite his sunny disposition and sweet nature, shelter officials say he hasn't received a single adoption application.
Icy, a 5-year-old Cairn Terrier mix, has been at the Lincoln Humane Society in St. Catharines, Ontario, since the end of June, but despite his sunny disposition and sweet nature, shelter officials say he hasn't received a single adoption application.
The floofy, medium-sized pup was rescued as part of an an animal cruelty case in the area which is still under investigation.
Because of his background, the shelter says Icy requires "the safest home", after all the trauma he's experienced.
His perfect home has all adults, no children, with only "kind and calm dogs" and owners who will be committed to training this deserving pup. He also has some medical concerns, so potential adopters must be able to continue his treatments.
While that first post gained plenty of online attention, the shelter says no one has reached out to apply to adopt Icy.
Kevin Strooband, who works at the shelter, said it's unusual not to receive any adoption applications for dogs.
