Whether it's Instagram or Facebook, seeing influencers' and their dogs' fun-loving videos in the reels might convince you to adopt a dog right away. But before adding a sweet puppy to your family, you should consider whether you and your family are fully prepared to welcome this new member. Although these sweet furry babies bring endless joy to your life, keeping them is no mean feat!
Here are 5 signs that you're not ready to add a furry family member right now.
You are not an early riser
Puppies and babies usually wake up early in the morning to defecate. As a dog owner, you must make the tough adjustment of getting up early. If you're not mentally prepared to adapt, put the idea of keeping a dog on hold for now.

You have no fixed abode
If you move often or are planning to relocate soon, your new place may not be dog-friendly. You can leave your dog in someone else's care, but it will be tough for him to survive without you.
You have a small space
Living in a small space is already difficult; accommodating a dog makes it even more difficult. So before getting a dog, think about whether your living space size suits a dog. Otherwise, you are not ready for dog adoption now.
You work overtime
If you have to work overtime, you are not at home outside of normal working hours. As a result, your dog has to spend a lot of time without you. You can keep your dog in a daycare or visit him at lunchtime. Which again adds cost and extra work.
You don't have the budget
Keeping dogs is not cheap. You have to spend a lot of money on dog health care and food. If you're on a tight budget, ditch the idea for now.
